Yumiko Aratani, PhD

Yumiko Aratani started her postdoctoral research at NCCP in August 2006 and currently is the Data Analyst for Unclaimed Children Revisited, a series of policy and impact analyses of mental health services for children, adolescents, and their families.
Her research has focused on the roles of parental housing in stratification processes, changes in policies affecting low-income families with children in the post-PRWORA era, and parental assets and children’s well-being.
She received her Ph.D. in Sociology from Columbia University. She holds a Master's degree in Education from Boston University and a B.A. in Sociology from Tokyo Woman’s Christian University.
