Sharmila Lawrence is a research associate for NCCP’s Research Connections project. She coordinates the project’s collaboration and outreach efforts and helps in the development of research and policy briefs on key issues related to early care and education. Previously at NCCP she worked with the Research Forum to synthesize and disseminate research findings on the impact of welfare reform on child and family well-being. Her past research focused on issues of domestic violence and related barriers among low-income vulnerable populations.
Sharmila earned a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University and holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the College of Wooster.
