Taniesha A. Woods, PhD

Senior Research Associate

Taniesha A. Woods, a developmental scientist, is a senior research associate on the early childhood team. Her early childhood research and policy expertise are in the areas of educational equity, mathematics education, teacher professional development, and racial socialization. Taniesha manages several projects and is collaborating with the early childhood team in the development of a new program of research.

Taniesha has a leadership role on projects that focus on the promotion of strategic cross-system community-level action that is linked to positive child and family outcomes. Her research interests include early childhood intellectual development and effective education and training for teachers of young children. Her research is situated within an ecological systems framework that incorporates the diversity of children and their families.

Taniesha holds a PhD and MA degrees in developmental psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.A in psychology and African and African American Studies from the University of Oklahoma.
