Taniesha A. Woods, a developmental psychologist, is a senior research associate on the early childhood team. Her early childhood research and policy expertise are in the areas of educational equity, mathematics education, teacher professional development, and racial socialization. Taniesha is the co-principal investigator for thePathways to Early School Success: Building State and Local Capacity project.

Taniesha’s research interests include early childhood intellectual/academic development; effective education and training for the teachers of young children, especially around mathematics; and community-based interventions and program evaluation. Her research is situated within an ecological systems framework that incorporates the diversity of children and their families.

Taniesha holds PhD and MA degrees in developmental psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA in psychology and African and African American Studies from the University of Oklahoma.
